Camp Pendleton Sailor dies after helicopter blade accident


MCAS Camp Pendleton said the sailor died Saturday morning from injuries sustained after the spinning tail rotor blade of a UH-01Y Venom Marine helicopter struck him. Matthew Mowery, commanding officer of MAG-39 said in a statement obtained by USNI News. The sailor was taken to a hospital near the base, where he remained on Friday, officials said. Read More »

Leicester major incident: Emergency crews tackle blaze after report of 'explosion'


A spokeswoman said six fire engines had been requested and that the incident is now being treated as a search and rescue operation.
