MacBook Air gets price cut as entry MacBook Pro adds Touch Bar

13 July 2019

A couple of days ago, Apple just refreshed the base model 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and killed off the 12-inch MacBook.

"With a lower Dh4,417.35 student price for the MacBook Air and theupdated 13-inchMacBook Pro with faster performance, Touch Bar and Touch ID at Dh5,206.95 for students, there's never been a better time to bring a Mac tocollege". The new model managed a single core score of 4,639 and a multi-core score of 16,665.

The previous 13 inch model was released back in 2017 and it had a single core score of 4,341 and a multi-core score of 9,084.

The MacBook Pro features a 15W chip, part of the Coffee Lake range, and can offer a max Turbo Boost frequency of up to 3.9GHz, an impressive feat for a small notebook. You can upgrade the storage to 256GB or the RAM to 16GB for an extra $200, or step up to a 1.7GHz quad-core i5 for an extra $300. It has notably more powerful processor than quad-core Intel Core i5 processor. As far as how powerful that upgrade is, there now only appears to be one Geekbench test of the processor.

"The funeral" 12-inch MacBook upset many users, as it was the lightest and most compact laptop, for which he valued buyers. Its price has been also lowered to Rs 99,900.

The recently launched base 13-inch MacBook Pro has received the iFixit treatment and has been torn down to reveal all its internals. Benchmarks results show an 83% increase in speed, but performance-wise, it could be different in real-world usage.

"College students love the Mac - it's the notebook they rely on from the dorm room to the classroom, and the No. 1 choice among higher education students", said Tom Boger, Apple's senior director of Mac Product Marketing. If you're looking to buy, you can find these new MacBooks over at Apple's website.
