Prime Day kicks off with Whole Foods deal, Taylor Swift concert

11 July 2019

Amazon's annual Prime Day festival is set to kick off next Monday, July 15. Twitch Sells Out is a special two-day event coinciding with Amazon's Prime Day sale holiday in which popular Twitch livestreamers host an infomercial advertising various deals and discounts.

Amazon says that there will be over one million deals offered on Amazon Prime Day 2019. Prime members received the opportunity to catch all the action via the show's official live stream. Members can expect exclusive deals and if you find yourself without an account, Amazon is offering a free 30-day trial to join Prime. Officially titled the Prime Day 2019 Concert, the show will also feature Dua Lipa, SZA, and Becky G, in addition to headliner Taylor Swift.

The concert is being streamed live on Amazon Prime Video starting at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT) on Wednesday, July 10.

Since its inception in 2015, Amazon's Prime Day has evolved from a straightforward "Black Friday in summer" promotion to an internet-wide shopping festival, with an increasing number of Amazon's competitors jumping into the game with their own sweet summer deals-many without the entry barrier of a paid membership.

Amazon just keeps the good news coming.

If you're not a Prime member by the time of the concert, you'll be able to watch it for a limited time the next day on-demand. And this year's doorbuster sales event will be more distracting than ever, as Amazon has decided to make it a two-day shopping extravaganza running through the end of Tuesday. But do you really want to miss Swift perform some of her new singles off of her upcoming album Lover while adding things to your shopping cart with 2-day Amazon shipping? That command will launch a playlist of "new hits and favorites from the artists featured across the lineup".
