Las Vegas to Host Team USA in Preparation for FIBA Tourney

Other returning NBA players to the United States program are Sacramento's Harrison Barnes, Washington's Bradley Beal, Detroit's Andre Drummond, Houston's Eric Gordon, Portland's Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum, Indiana's Myles Turner, Charlotte's Kemba Walker, Philadelphia's Tobias Harris, Cleveland's Kevin Love, Milwaukee's Khris Middleton and Kyle Lowry, who has helped the Toronto Raptors reach the NBA Finals.

U.S. coach Gregg Popovich, who guides the NBA's San Antonio Spurs, will welcome 12 other members of the previous national team roster and six newcomers to that list.

With Team USA's training camp opening in Las Vegas on August 5 in preparation for the 2019 FIBA World Cup, the roster of the 20 players invited to participate has officially been revealed.

Drummond was part of the gold medalist 2014 USA World Cup Team. Tatum is among 20 National Basketball Association stars who will compete for 12 spots on USA's 2019 FIBA World Cup squad.

The six who were added include Kyle Kuzma, Brook Lopez, Paul Millsap, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum and PJ Tucker. "We've got an excellent cross-section of veteran USA Basketball and NBA players, as well as some exciting younger players who possess awesome versatility". Slated to conduct training August 25, 27 and 28, the US will close out its exhibition tour on August 26 facing Canada at Qudos Bank Arena before beginning play in the 2019 FIBA World Cup. This summer, he'll practice with Anthony Davis, James Harden and Damian Lillard in front of Gregg Popovich, Steve Kerr, and Jay Wright.

The 20 National Basketball Association players represent 16 National Basketball Association teams, with Houston featuring three players (Gordon, Harden and Tucker), while Milwaukee (Lopez and Middleton) and Portland (Lillard and McCollum) have two players each. The former second-round pick averaged 12.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and two assists per game this past season. In total, 11 players have been selected as an NBA All-Star a total of 40 times during their careers. The 2019 FIBA World Cup begins on August 31 in China.

The American squad will continue its World Cup preparations Aug. 19-24 in Melbourne, Australia, and play a pair of exhibition games versus Australia on Aug. 22 and Aug. 24 at Marvel Stadium.

Since the formations of USA Basketball's National Team program in 2006 by Colangelo, USA national teams have compiled a spectacular 88-1 overall record (FIBA competitions and exhibition games) and claimed top honors in six of seven FIBA or FIBA Americas competitions (through 2016 Olympics).

The No. 1 world-ranked team, the US was drawn into Group E and will play their First Round games in Shanghai.
