After the arrest, rapper Lil Wayne said he would not perform at the festival on Sunday.

Bradford Cohen, criminal defense attorney for Kodak Black has spoken out for the first time since the South Florida native was arrested while en route to perform at Rolling loud Miami.

He was taken into custody right away for alleged state and federal firearm violations, Roberto Gonzalez with the US Marshals Office of the Southern District of Florida confirmed. The statement said he was charged with a crime in connection with weapons, but didn't elaborate.

The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was a headliner at the show.

Fans of Lil Wayne and Kodak Black did not get their money's worth at Saturday's Rolling Loud Festival in Miami.

Rolling Loud, billed as the World's Largest Hip-Hop Festival, kicks off Friday at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Lil Wayne has sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

The Miami Herald said his arrest had come after an "extensive investigation", citing U.S. officials.

He was arrested by US Marshals with the help of Miami-Dade police and federal agents from the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Authorities say Black will make an initial appearance in Miami federal court Monday. This latest arrest arrives as Kodak awaits the start of trial for a criminal sexual conduct case he caught in SC almost three years ago.
