PM Modi addresses rally in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir

15 April 2019

"Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has openly supported Narendra Modi as a pre-condition for talks on bilateral resolution of the Kashmir dispute which clearly shows that there is a tactical understanding between the BJP and the Pakistan Prime Minister", the Congress leader told PTI.

Addressing an election rally in Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Modi also hit out at the Congress for raising doubts on the Balakot airstrikes, its failure to prevent atrocities against Kashmiri Pandits and corruption in defence deals. "Opinion polls and surveys are saying that BJP will get thrice the seats that Congress gets in these Lok Sabha polls", he said.

"These families have sucked the blood of people of J&K for long and I challenge them - let them field all their relatives in the polls, abuse me as much as they can, but I will not allow them to succeed in their nefarious design of dividing India", he said after starting his speech in the local Dogri language.

Asserting that the Congress will probe functioning of the Modi government if it comes to power, Moily said, "We will investigate all actions taken during the current BJP's tenure, that include demonetisation, the Balakot attack and sacking of intelligence chief and ferrying of CRPF personnel in a bus despite intelligence input to the contrary".

Abdullah questioned why the BJP made two members of the Mufti family chief ministers.

In a series of two tweets, Mehbooba Mufti called out the BJP and said that first they would call them traitors and at the second moment, they would be forging an alliance. He also attacked opposition parties who he said were working to "separate" Kashmir from India.

"Did we deflate their nuclear threat or not?" he asked the crowd that chanted "Modi, Modi, Modi" in response. "But in this new India when terrorists attacked Uri, our fearless soldiers conducted a surgical strike", he said.

Modi accused the National Conference and PDP of supporting separatism. He added that the Congress did not have faith in India's armed forces.

Modi said such people could not understand the "tapasya" of the Army as they were born with a silver spoon.

"They [Samajwadi Party-Bahujan Samaj Party] have fielded such candidates in this election who have reservation over Vande Matram". One country can not have two Prime Ministers, two flags and two Constitutions. "In order to gain sympathy & consequently power, PM is misleading people by equating himself with the nation".
