Jurgen Klopp sets target for Liverpool as title pursuit hots up

15 April 2019

That has been the thing we've been missing before in my time here.

We go to Porto now (holding a 2-0 lead in the Champions League), which will be a tough one.

Jürgen Klopp said he was blown away by the majesty of Mohamed Salah's goal against Chelsea as he challenged Liverpool to end their title run-in with a faultless finish.

"And by the way, we can finally close the slipping book", said Klopp.

"I loved, loved, loved the atmosphere".

"My biggest problem with Manchester United at this point in time is maybe whereas six weeks ago I could see a picture of how they wanted to play, I can't anymore".

"The performance was really good but to really make it happen you need the goals and we got them, all good".

"It immediately reminded me of the 4-3 against Borussia Dortmund, only Hendo [Jordan Henderson] instead of Millie [James Milner] and Sadio instead of Dejan [Lovren], but a similar situation with this wonderful cross in that area and really good team play".

"In Europe everyone thought we had a simple draw and but it is not so".

"Probably at this moment they are better than us, but we are going the right way". If we think about them, yes, and if we don't think about them, no.

Sarri spoke of his initial game plan after the match, stating that it was his side's intention to get to 65 minutes level with Liverpool.

With just three games left to be played in the 2013/14 campaign, the Reds looked poised for a maiden Premier League title, but an uncharacteristic mistake from Gerrard against the Blues all but dashed Liverpool's hopes. You lose your focus then.

The Red Devils are in fifth place in the Premier League table and three points adrift of Tottenham, who occupy third position with five games to go. "If that's enough, perfect, and if not, we can not change it".
