Trump Says He's 'Not Keeping Anything Under Wraps,' About Meetings With Putin

14 January 2019

The New York Times report-and a companion piece published Sunday in the Washington Post claiming that Trump has kept secret key details of his private conversations with Putin-serve to legitimize antidemocratic and unconstitutional conduct by the military-intelligence apparatus.

After a G-20 meeting in Hamburg in July 2017, the president took possession of his interpreter's notes and instructed the linguist "not to discuss what had transpired with other administration officials", the Post reported, citing current and former US officials.

"I couldn't care less", Trump said in an interview with Jeanine Pirro on Fox News on Saturday night. "It was a great conversation".

"I really think that the investigation was about Trump from the beginning", McCarthy said.

In one instance, following a meeting Trump had with Putin in Hamburg, Germany, in 2017 that former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was also present for, a White House adviser and a senior State Department official were seeking additional information from Trump's interpreter that was more than the information provided in a readout from Tillerson.

Rep. Eliot L. Engel (D-N.Y.), chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told NPR his committee will investigate Trump's interactions with Putin. But Trump waved off their queries, leaving the officials to rely exclusively on a brief readout that Rex Tillerson, the secretary of state at the time, had provided to the news media, according to the former official.

Coons said, "That was a concerning, even alarming report".

"I think it's the most insulting thing I have ever been asked", Mr. Trump told Pirro by phone, without explicitly denying the charge.

A White House spokesman contacted by the Washington Post who spoke on the condition of anonymity said the administration has sought to "improve the relationship with Russian Federation".

The U.S. intelligence community has concluded that Russian Federation engaged in a campaign of hacking and propaganda to sway voters during the vote, largely aimed at bolstering Trump's chances at the presidency.

So lets get something straight here: we have ISIS and other terrorist organizations around the world who want to do us harm and the Democrats oppose President Trump so much that they're willing to put America even further at risk?

"My firing of James Comey was a great day for America", Trump claimed, describing the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director as "a Crooked Cop who is being totally protected by his best friend, Bob Mueller".

"My people came to me, Dan Coats came to me, and some others, they said they think it's Russian Federation", the president said at the time.

"If you compare objectively President Trump's policies in Russian Federation... to President Obama's policies in Russian Federation. Unless she's destroyed them, they would be of interest", he said.

A front-page article published Saturday in the New York Times revealing that the FBI secretly opened a counterintelligence investigation into President Donald Trump after he fired FBI Director James Comey has laid bare a massive police state conspiracy by the U.S. intelligence agencies. "Anybody could have listened to that meeting, that meeting is up for grabs".
