Missing 13-year-old Jayme Closs has been found alive in Douglas County, according to Barron County Sheriff's Department.

CBS Minnesota spoke to Jayme's aunt Sue on Thursday evening, who said her niece was now in the hospital.

He said the girl had been found in the town of Gordon, about 100 kilometres north of Barron, where she had lived with her parents. We promised to bring Jayme home and tonight we get to fulfill that promise. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!'

A suspect has been taken into custody and there are no other details available, but the sheriff will give a press briefing at 10 a.m. Friday.

Fitzgerald said in November that he kept similar cases in the back of his mind as he worked to find Jayme, including the abduction of Elizabeth Smart, who was taken from her Salt Lake City home in 2002, when she was 14 years old.

Closs disappeared October 15, 2018, the same day her parents - James and Denise Closs - were found shot to death inside their Barron home. Investigators said Closs was quickly ruled out as a suspect. The sheriff's office said they will be receiving support from the FBI and the Wisconsin DCI agents as the investigation continues.

Sheriff Fitzgerald also says that "This case has been very trying on the family so please respect their privacy and we reunite them later tonight". "A lot of happy tears in this house tonight". She said the family is focused on supporting Jayme. Neighbors, family and volunteers gathered to help with searches of the area.

Thousands of people had joined search parties for Jayme, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation was offering a reward of $25,000 for information on her whereabouts. "It's the news we've been waiting on for three months". She is sleeping in one of your sweatshirts. "Jayme is an example of why we never lose hope and never stop search", NCMEC tweeted. She was located in Gordon, Wisconsin, officials said.

Sheriff Fitzgerald was planning a news conference next week to mark 90 days since her abduction.
