"I was sickened by the allegations".

Her office covers Chicago where Kelly has a home.

The six-part series includes interviews with R. Kelly associates, relatives, and accusers - many of whom claim they were teenagers at the time they were abused, according to The New York Times.

Foxx reiterated that there are dedicated professionals who are willing to help the survivors unpack their horrific experiences and urged victims to call the prosecutor's office at 773-674-6492.

The Fulton County, Georgia, district attorney would not comment on the reports of an investigation into Kelly.

Steve Greenberg spoke to FOX 5 Atlanta by phone in response to the recent reports of investigations following a controversial mini-series which aired last week on the Lifetime network about the singer-songwriter.

The Savage family said they have been unable to reach Joycelyn Savage for some time after associating with the singer.

"If we are going to take these allegations seriously - it isn't one of those situations where it's just forensics, we need actual witnesses and victims to have the courage to tell their stories", she said. He also said it was inappropriate for a state's attorney to characterize allegations she'd seen on TV, prior to charges or even an investigation. For their sake, let's hope they receive justice.

Foxx said she has been "in contact with" people who have information related to claims in Cook County.

In May, R. Kelly's former manager, James Mason, was arrested after being accused of threatening to kill a man who says Kelly is holding his daughter against her will, CNN reported. The report doesn't say what the relationship between Mason and Kelly is.

Rather, he was acquitted on child pornography charges in 2008.

Savage told the officer that Mason had called him around 3:10 p.m. on May 23 and said, "I'm gonna do harm to you and your family, when I see you I'm gonna get you, I'm gonna (expletive) kill you". Prosecutors had argued a videotape showed him engaged in graphic sex acts with a girl as young as 13.

She responded to this claim in a video released in 2017, in which she denied she's being held and that she had been brainwashed by the Grammy-award winning singer.
