Arch-Tempered Kulve Taroth And Nergigante, More Coming To Monster Hunter

10 December 2018

If you've always wanted to try Monster Hunter: World after seeing so many people rave about how good it is, then you're in luck.

As for our boy Geralt, he'll be playable in a crossover collaboration after he's whisked through a portal to the world of Monster Hunter.

The new content will be arriving for PlayStation 4 and XBox One in early 2019, with the PC version coming along sometime after. Apart from new monsters, we know Iceborne will also add at least one fan-favorite to World's roster; the catlike wyvern Nargacuga, originally introduced in Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, makes a brief appearance at the end of the trailer. More details on the PC release will be shared in future announcements. More information on the expansion will be shared next spring. The presentation referenced Geralt finding himself in the New World, so it will include a new type of Witcher gameplay and even Geralt's own voice actors.

Iceborne is scheduled to release well into 2019, but Capcom also announced another, smaller update scheduled for early 2019: a Witcher 3 collaboration featuring none other than Geralt of Rivia, who is presumably a longsword main.

The new big monsters mentioned are "arch-tempered" variants of two nasties, Arch-tempered Kulve Taroth and Arch-tempered Nergigante.

In the update, which comes almost a year after the game's original release, Tsujimoto said the expansion is set to arrive in Autumn 2019 for console. As part of the Guild's Research Commission, players must embark on a grand journey to this massive, mysterious land and uncover the secrets behind this phenomenon.
