Blizzard denies it was going to show Diablo 4 at BlizzCon

Posting on Reddit , Diablo fan borbach highlighted that Diablo Immortal's cinematic trailer mysteriously jumped from 311 thousand dislikes to 215 thousand dislikes, while the likes had only crawled up by 300.

Needless to say, Diablo fans anticipating a core game announcement weren't thrilled, causing a backlash the developer hasn't faced in a long while.

However, Blizzard has since issue a statement confirming it did not hold back on any planned announcements.

Diablo Immortal was the only Diablo announcement at BlizzCon, and to put it mildly, many fans have responded negatively.

He reassured fans that although the game is not what fans expected, Blizzard is still working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects that fans will soon get to see. "So we knew that we wanted to use mobile devices as the platform for a new "Diablo" game - because nothing brings together the family like slaying demons!"

According to the social media statistics website Social Blade, the Diablo: Immortal trailer now displays engagement numbers that are wildly different from screenshots taken by other users.

According to the announcement, it looks like the game will receive an updated ladder system that will help matchmaking in competitive play as well as an updated map editor. We just want a real, Diablo game that's following Diablo 3 (or 2, if that's your thing). Blizzard changed its BlizzCon plans for Diablo at some point in the last couple of weeks, those people familiar with goings-on at Blizzard said. Warcraft III: Reforged does not have a conclusive release date yet but Blizzard said it might come out sometime next year.

The conclusion that we can draw from this is that Blizzard messed up in their presentation.

So this past weekend wasn't the greatest one for Blizzard Entertainment.

Sources claim that Blizzard recorded a video in which co-founder Allen Adham discussed "a new Diablo project", although no footage seems to have been involved - so it'd essentially have been just a name drop.

Activision Blizzard Inc. shares were hammered as video gamers took to social media to criticize a new mobile game that they say failed to live up to the storied franchise.

Oh and Lucio is the face of a new cereal that Blizzard and Kellogg's will release.
