Newlyweds killed in helicopter crash 90 minutes after getting married

05 November 2018

A newlywed couple leaving their wedding ceremony in a helicopter died early Sunday morning when the helicopter crashed, according to a report from the Houstonian.

The crash took place in Uvalde, Texas, and the Uvalde Police received a call from an aviation monitoring center at approximately midnight Saturday of a possible downed aircraft.

Wedding attendees have been posting their condolences on social media.

Wedding website The Knot, which had a page for their wedding, changed the page to a message reading "Our deepest sympathies and thoughts are with this family at their great loss. Our hearts hurt now, but we know this is not forever".

"I'm so sad to even be captioning these pictures with this, but you know I just have to share with everyone how attractive you looked on your wedding day like I normally would have", Bailee's maid of honor posted on Instagram accompanying a picture of her and the bride in their getting-ready robes and then dressed for the wedding.

"So thankful we got to spend these last few days with y'all". Their engagement photos show a giddy couple, with Will in a cowboy hat and Bailee showing off her ring.

Uvalde County Justice of the Peace Steve Kennedy told the San Antonio Express-News Monday that the helicopter was en route to a regional airport from where the newlyweds planned to fly to their honeymoon destination. The NTSB said the incident involved a Bell 206B - a two-bladed, twin-engine chopper.
