NBCUniversal Pulls Controversial Trump Campaign Ad

05 November 2018

"After further review, we recognize the insensitive nature of the ad and have chose to cease airing it across our properties as soon as possible", Joe Benarroch, a spokesperson for NBC's advertising sales department, said in a statement Monday. The pro-President Trump ad gave voters a dire warning about the migrant caravan headed toward the US border.

Trump was asked Monday whether he thought the ad was offensive.

"Upon further review, Fox News pulled the ad yesterday and it will not appear on either Fox News Channel or Fox Business Network", Marianne Gambelli, Fox News' president of advertisement sales, told CNN in a statement.

President Donald Trump and his Republican supporters have been widely criticized for a blatantly racist depicting Central American refugees as violent criminals-and the ad is so offensive that even Fox News is no longer running it. He made no mention of Fox News's decision.

The backlash against President Trump's anti-illegal immigration ad linking the approaching caravan with a cop killer has become so severe that CNN refused to air it, later prompting both Fox News and NBC to pull it after airing. Enjoy. Remember this on Tuesday.

In fact, he was deported and last snuck in when George W. Bush was president, and he was detained but released by former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a Trump favorite who later won a presidential pardon. And media coverage of the caravan, which has been traveling north from Honduras over the past month, has revealed its participants are men, women and children who are fleeing violence, poverty and political repression.

Before the ad aired, Trump had blamed Democrats for the 7,000-strong caravan. This includes dehumanizing or denigrating entire groups of people and using frightening and exaggerated rumors of danger.

Facebook is removing this Trump campaign ad for violating its rules against sensational content.

Facebook, too, announced Monday that the ad could not be a paid ad on the site, though users can still post it themselves.
