Members of an Egyptian security delegation have met with senior Israeli officials to discuss the situation in blockaded Gaza, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority (IBA) reported Friday.

Cuba reiterates its strong rejection to the use of disproportionate and indiscriminate force by Israel against Palestinian civilians in the occupied territory, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, in gross and flagrant violation of the UN Charter and worldwide law, ambassador Rodriguez stated.

Hamas and the Islamic Jihad militant group quickly denied firing the rockets.

The militant Hamas group praised the turnout as a challenge to Israel, which was mulling a large-scale military response after a rocket was sacked from Gaza on Wednesday and destroyed a house in southern Israel.

"No one wants a war", he said.

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry said 130 Palestinians were hurt, including 77 hit by live fire.

Israeli soldiers shot and wounded 77 Palestinians during protests near the Gaza Strip border on Friday, the enclave's Health Ministry said.

Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Movement MP, Mustafa Barghouti, warned of serious intentions to launch a devastating aggression on the Gaza Strip, by Israeli forces.

Ministers said the IDF should ultimately adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward rocket attacks, arson balloons and rioting along the Israeli border, according to reports in Hebrew-language media.

Protesters demand the right to return to their homes in historical Palestine from which they were driven in 1948 to make way for the new state of Israel.

Euro-Med stressed "Israel's response to protests violates the principles of global human rights law; that is, despite the fact that protests have largely been peaceful, Israeli soldiers killed 205 people, including five women and 38 children, while also injuring 22,527 others, 18% of whom are children".

These actions come amid the so-called Great March of Return, which began on March 30 resulting in the deaths of more than 200 Palestinians in demonstrations and in violent incidents or Israeli bombings against militias.

In Gaza, a Palestinian official told Reuters that resistance groups were not seeking war with Israel.

The large attendance was a test to Egypt's efforts to push Hamas into scaling down the protests and rein in marchers who venture out to the fence and breach it, triggering deadly Israeli fire. He also had a message for demonstrators ahead of Friday's protest.

Israeli aircraft launched a series of raids on Palestinian targets in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, in response to a rocket attack on Beersheba, according to Al Ray.
