Floyd Mayweather responds to Khabib Nurmagomedov call out

15 October 2018

Khabib Nurmagomedov has called out Floyd Mayweather Jr after successfully defending his UFC lightweight title against Conor McGregor.

Khabib threw down the gauntlet in a video addressing "Moneyman" alongside CEO of Mayweather Promotions Leonard Ellerbe and said: 'In the jungle there is only one king'.

The New York rapper said he would give Khabib $2m to fight for him at Bellator - the same figure he was set to receive after his win over Conor McGregor at UFC 229. We are two guys who never lose.

"In the jungle there is only one king and obviously that is me", saidNurmagomedov. He could not drop McGregor, but I dropped him easily. This one, as I said was nearly two years out.

Mayweather's reply comes after he condemned Khabib's actions after the McGregor fight at UFC 229 - predicting a big fine for the Russian. The graffiti also includes a speech balloon reading, "Don't talk too much" - an apparent reference to McGregor's verbal attacks on Nurmagomedov, insulting his father, religion and homeland Dagestan.

After McGregor's tap-out to Khabib, a mass brawl broke out outside of the octagon, that caught the eyes of the millions watching.

The Irishman was also assaulted after the fight by Khabib's teammates, Zubaira Tukhugov and Islam Makhachev.

Both Mayweather and Nurmagomedov are undefeated in their respective disciplines but the proposed bout, which would likely be targeted for Las Vegas, is miles off right now as Nurmagomedov would have to be licensed to box by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, whose bad books he is firmly in. I was having seizures and I felt very ill.

"I'll deal with Dana and your contract later", 50 Cent commented on his own Instagram post, and referring to UFC president Dana White. Subscribe to my podcast In This Corner with Brian Campbell where I break down everything you need to know in the Octagon.

"Victory, defeat, all of this is not as important as the good things in life".
