Nintendo gives Switch subscribers decked-out NES Zelda save file

The items you begin with include the White Sword, Magical Shield, Blue Ring, and Power Bracelet.

Before that, only three games were believed to be coming this month but we are now surprised by the fourth one. Case in point, a new version of the NES' The Legend of Zelda was just added to the Switch's NES backlog, and this edition starts the game off with an incredibly powerful and rich Link. It's a big shift: the original Zelda is infamous for dropping you in the middle of a unsafe, magical world with little equipment and even fewer directions.

Nintendo has surprised Switch Online subscribers by releasing a special (SP) version of The Legend of Zelda called 'The Legend of Zelda - Living the life of luxury'. You can try restarting your console in case you don't see Legend of Zelda in the dashboard.

Nintendo Switch Online allows players to engage in competitive or cooperative gameplay with people around the world in many current and upcoming games like Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis Aces, Super Mario Party and Super Smash Bros.

Aside from the items and rupees, the updated Switch version of Zelda appears to be identical to the original, at least from the little bit I've played. It is essentially Zelda on steroids. This one's extra luxurious because Nintendo's taken the liberty of loading you up with tons of items and rupees, as well as revealing all of the game's many secret areas and shortcuts right from the get go. It's never a bad thing to have more ways to play. However, this wasn't the only game to release for the NES library today. Upon completion a "more hard version of the game called Second Quest" will be available to players. Apparently, Nintendo wants to make the game a bit more relaxed for any Zelda noobs who might be playing.
