Google had a big day on Wednesday, announcing their Pixel 3 phones, Home Hub and Pixel Slate. In terms of design, the main body of each case is a transparent shell that shows off the phone underneath, coupled with a "color pop" outer ring.
The main reason for this is the USB-C port functionality the Gamevice Pixel 3 XL model sports.
Google did make plenty of references to its software during the event but used keywords like "AI", "software", and "Chrome OS" when describing new Pixel 3 and Pixel Slate features. The screen came with a 5-inch display, 1080 x 1920 resolution and AMOLED technology, making for a lovely display - although the Pixel 3 does trump it slightly in that regard now.
Google held a launch event on 9th October, which is known as "Made by Google". So now the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are launched and they matched the expectation of the audience.
iPad has a new rival, according to Google.
The Pixel line of phones is famed for its photographic capabilities, so it's hardly a shock to find that Google has left the rear camera pretty much the same as it was on the Pixel 2 XL. Analysts are also expecting Google to add higher resolution and more cameras to the Pixel, whose first two generations attracted rave reviews for its high-quality pictures. Google recently unveiled its new phones after months rumors, but what we didn't see in all the leaks was how great the camera is. And here in Asia, where people can't afford to upgrade their phone every year or necessarily buy a new iPhone, picking up a Pixel on contract with a local carrier is starting to look like a very attractive, affordable, and reliable option. Now the "More" option is listed below which includes AR Stickers, Google Lens, and Settings.
The Snapdragon 845 chip from mobile chipmaker Qualcomm runs in both Pixel 3 phones. Most likely some of the more advanced features like deoth effects and Super-Res will work on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, but not the original Pixel. Some may say that, after so many years of Android, it doesn't really matter if Google mentions it. This latter feature, Google Duplex, is an example of a feature that the Pixel 3 will come with that'll roll out to Pixel 2 devices over time.
Google faced a fresh privacy backlash Tuesday over a glitch that may have exposed data from half a million users, overshadowing the Silicon Valley's launch of a new smartphone and other devices.
The new Top Shot feature uses the "Motion" technology on Pixel phones to capture a bunch of photos before and after you snap the shutter button.
The Pixel 3 faces continued limited sales in the United States since Google again signed an exclusive distribution deal with wireless carrier Verizon Communications Inc. that means the device will get little marketing from other carriers.
