Finally, Romijn explained that she loved working with her captain and co-star Mount and revealed they often talk about the character of Spock on set, as well as teasing that the cast are as kept in the dark as the fans and have to wait until the scripts come in to see where the season's going to go.

In addition to that enigma (and the one of Spock's facial hair), we also got a look at Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and the return of Michelle Yeoh as Phillipa Georgiou.

The trailer, which runs over two-minutes, dives deeper into the mysterious signals - shown in the original trailer - which Michael (Sonequa Martin-Green) is determined to uncover after her half-brother Spock (Ethan Peck) left Captain Pike's (Anson Mount) command. You know more than I know!

When asked if we'd see any other classic characters like Spock on the show, Kurtzman conceded, heavily hinting that the Talosians might be making an appearance on Discovery.

Discovery aired the first of its four mini-episodes, Short Treks, last week called "Runaway", focusing on Tilly. To that end, Kurtzman says that the season is about exploring the area between science and faith. "Not everyone knows I'm from the mirror universe, so I get to play the good Captain", Yeoh said.

After the January 17, 2019 premiere of season 2, Star Trek: Discovery the 13 episodes will be available on-demand weekly on Thursdays on CBS All Access.

The Saru actor also said that his character considers Burnham to be a sister as well, and when he goes through that rough patch mentioned above, he goes to her.

Are you excited for season two of Discovery?

While fans have yet to properly see Peck's performance as a younger version of the iconic character (though we do catch a glimpse in the new trailer), his co-stars are already singing his praises.

Jones said Saru finds out something about himself and what it means to be a Kelpien in Season 2, something he did not know but will be "challenging".

Mary Chieffo said L'Rell is now the Klingon Chancellor but the male Klingons aren't happy being led by a woman.
