Fortnite Beta for Android coming this week

09 August 2018

The 128GB version comes in at $1000 - iPhone X money.

Samsung hopesto differentiate itself with a pop of color, too.

Fortnite Mobile will be exclusively on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 for the first 30 days after launch. Instead, for the United States at least, there'll be two colors: Ocean Blue, which is Samsung's de-factor "hero finish", and Lavender Purple. Lovers of the game would get an exclusive Note 9 character skin, or alternative appearance for characters.

There will be three colors to choose from: Rose Gold, Silver and Midnight Black. Like other Galaxy phones, the Note 9 is water resistant, and features an infinity displayand wireless charging. Everything is packed in a sleek, lovely body, even though the design is nearly identical to last year's Note 8.

There'll be a second version, however, for those who really do refuse to compromise.

Today is the day Samsung gets to confirm all the rumours and leaks, showing us the Galaxy Note 9 at the Galaxy Unpacked Event. The Galaxy Note 9 supports a total of 1TB internal storage, with the top-end model that comes with 512GB of built-in storage and also supports microSD cards of up to the same capacity. Plenty of space for games, work documents, and 4K video files.

Samsung's also promising that the Note 9 is created to make sure it lasts. "The Note announcements have always been a more significant step in technology evolution compared with [this device]".

It will be available on the major carriers: A&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular and Xfinity.

Now that it features a much bigger 4,000mAh battery, the Galaxy Note 9 has a nice heft to it.

Don't let the Note 9's announcement make you forget the Note 8 is still a fantastic phone.

Finally, we have the Galaxy Note 9's camera performance. Samsung has priced it at $1,249.99. We will send you an email invite as soon as you can play.

Pre-orders for the Note 9 kick off tomorrow, at 12:01 am EDT on August 10, 2018. Instead, you'll have to use the Galaxy Apps Store that is pre-installed on your Samsung device.

To tempt you into preordering, there are some deals to sweeten the price. This allows you to switch between f/2.4 for outdoor environments to a faster f/1.5 in low light scenes. Samsung says supplies of both extras are limited, and that there'll only be 102,000 sets of the AKG headphones, 46,000 game bundles, and 36,000 bundles of both available.

That power also means there's a strong gaming focus, which is why Samsung Galaxy devices are getting early access to Epic Games' Fortnite - ahead of other Android devices.

As you'd expect, there's no shortage of official accessories for the Note 9.

Unlike previous Notes, there'll not be a complex Samsung DeX docking station.

To claim your gift, you will need to log into the Shop Samsung app and submit your details by September 13. Samsung will sell one - pricing to be confirmed - but any standards-compliant dongle should work too. And now, we have the Korean company's latest Note device: the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
