Barcelona offer Mina, Gomes and £50m for Paul Pogba

07 August 2018

In a bid that has been labelled "disrespectful" and "pathetic" by fans, Manchester United have unsurprisingly rejected an offer for World Cup winning midfielder, Paul Pogba.

Let's be serious here, a bid of €50 million plus two players, who were on the fringe of first team football last season, was never going to suffice after the midfielder's impressive performance at the World Cup.

However, while Valverde admitted he is an admirer of Pogba, he was careful not to add fuel to the fire regarding the former Juventus man's United sutuation.

Pogba endured a turbulent time at Old Trafford last season.

Pogba wants to leave Old Trafford due to his frosty relationship with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

United are aware that it could be a ploy by Pogba's representative to secure him a new contract on the same terms as £500,000-a-week top earner Alexis Sanchez.

"I don't think it's about us getting the best out of him", Mourinho told ESPN FC.

But Pogba would bounce back this summer, impressing for France as they went on to win the World Cup in Russian Federation.

'I think the World Cup is the flawless habitat for a player like him to give the best. Why?

Now it is being reported that United's attempts to sign defender Mina in recent days inspired a Barca suggestion that Pogba could move to the Catalan giants as part of the deal.

The Old Lady want the deal completed before the transfer window closes. However, the deadline in England is 5pm on Thursday, leaving United little or no time to sign a replacement unless they meant to replace him with new £52m signing Fred.
