Jurgen Klopp sends Loris Karius Liverpool FC message

11 July 2018

Jurgen Klopp talked down another error from Loris Karius after Liverpool's 3-2 friendly win over Tranmere Rovers, but accepts his goalkeeper will be scrutinised ahead of the new season.

Karius failed to deal with a free-kick from Oliver Norburn and dropped the ball in the path of Jonny Smith, who scored for Tranmere. Our job is to perform and you do what you do and that is part of the deal.

He said: "Now Loris concedes that goal but we can not start the story always after each mistake".

'Two brilliant footballers make mistakes but we only talk about one.

"You (the media) can all stop it immediately - promise?" We can't make a story after each mistake, let's carry on and make the best of the situation and learn from it.

After the pre-season friendly, Klopp was quick to defend his goalkeeper and while I expect nothing less from him, I really hope it's not an indication that Karius will continue between the sticks next season.

'I saw this situation 500 times in my life the ball hits his chest but what can you do'.

"I liked the second half as well because although we were not that ruthless, maybe, we created a lot and played good football, came in the right spaces - last third not as good as first half but it was pretty good".

Though the AS Roma star is supposedly set to sign for Real Madrid who are also hellbent on drafting in a new keeper.

"The boys, we need them". We had more chances to score, but then we conceded the goals, which is not nice. "I would be really insane if I would not give these boys a chance - they are fantastic players, they've played fantastic games, so we will see what happens".
