It might not have triggered the natural disaster sensors, but the roar of joy that greeted England's World Cup victory over Sweden on Saturday was heard throughout the land.

"The dream goes on!"

Emergency services personnel complained Sunday about the "disgraceful" behavior of a small number of supporters who celebrated England's victory over Sweden by dancing on top of an ambulance and badly damaging it.

"We're buzzing. We know there is still a big game ahead, but we're feeling really good", he said.

Dele Alli believes this England squad is bringing the country together as they chase World Cup glory in Russian Federation.

England manager Gareth Southgate says winning the World Cup would make his players even bigger heroes than the 1966 generation because of the impact of social media and the globalisation of football.

In the later match in Sochi, Russia's fairytale run came to a halt as they were beaten on penalties by Croatia after 120 gruelling minutes of football.

Harry Kane says England are determined to "finish the job" in Russian Federation and hopes their unexpected tilt at World Cup glory will inspire the next generation.

"It might do England a favour though if they are a bit exhausted when they kick off on the match later".

But Modric said they would be ready to face Southgate's men.

"We expect a very hard, tight and demanding match. We are an emerging side, an evolving side: a long way from ideal", said England coach Gareth Southgate.

In the other semi-final, in Saint Petersburg on Tuesday, Belgium, who conquered Neymar's Brazil in the quarter-finals, take on France, who saw off Uruguay.
