Trump hits back at ‘Punchy‘ De Niro

13 June 2018

Donald Trump has responded to Robert De Niro " s Tony Awards takedown by calling the Oscar-winning actor a "very low IQ individual".

De Niro has also made recent TV appearances on Saturday Night Live as none other than Robert Mueller, the special counsel overseeing the Russian Federation probe the President has repeatedly decried as a "witch hunt".

President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday to reciprocate a war of words with the actor Robert De Niro, after De Niro chastised Trump in multiple public appearances in the past few days. "I watched him last night and truly believe he may be 'punch-drunk, '" Trump tweeted at 4:53 p.m.

"I'm going to say one thing", he said, raising his fists in the air.

The "Godfather" star was bleeped at the Tony Awards when he dropped a series of F-bombs about Trump while introducing Bruce Springsteen.

The crowd at New York's Radio City Music Hall cheered his remarks, though he was later criticized for stooping to Trump's name-calling level.

Next day, appearing at a NOBU restaurant-hotel-condo launch in Toronto, De Niro apologized to Canadians for Trump's "disgusting" blast of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the recent G7.

It's not the first time the two-time Academy Award victor has slammed the commander in chief.
