XSEED Games Announces E3 2018 Lineup; Freedom Planet Officially Announced for Switch

12 June 2018

With Fortnite now available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and iOS; the Switch is pretty much the last big platform to be missing a version of the game.

Let's start off with the obvious; a new Super Smash Bros. game will be the focus of Nintendo at E3 2018. More information on the game can be found at http://freedomplanetgame.com/.

Eagle-eyed Twitter user SciresM has noticed that Nintendo went forward with an update for the game on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Nintendo's latest gaming console has been heavily mentioned in rumors when it comes to a Fortnite release.

The recent information almost confirms that there will be a Fortnite for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo had previously said back in March that they were going to make changes to the storefront before the catalogue became too cluttered. People seemed skeptical when the newest console was announced, but then it came out and boom; it's the hottest console on the market and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Fortnite is free on all platforms but it offers a variety of cosmetics that the players can buy to make their character look different. And the announcement just might take place in the coming week, at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018. It was a massive commercial success, selling more than 14 million units between both editions, while critics generally enjoyed the mascot fighting game as well. It is not known if the full game will arrive on the Switch, or if the experience will be limited to the battle royale mode without access to the Save The World Campaign. Apart from Fortnite, if this leaked document is authentic, few other games for Nintendo will also be revealed in the event.
