Baker Mayfield says 'Hard Knocks' can be Good

18 May 2018

Baker Mayfield already is bucking a trend in the NFL.

Yesterday, it was announced that this year, Hard Knocks will be filming the Cleveland Browns' preparations for the 2018 season, which should be very exciting as we witness how the team will respond from their embarrassing 2017 season where they went 0-16.

The Browns have turned down previous opportunities to be on the award-winning series.

"I had a good feeling it was between Josh Allen and I", Mayfield said. I'll just say that.

The Browns are too big a draw this season with No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield, the reigning Heisman Trophy victor with the fiery personality and occasional emotional outburst that the cameras will love. Haslam understands the value of Hard Knocks and the national buzz it can bring the team. The new cast of characters is far more colorful this season than last, and they're ready to show it off in the five episodes that will run from August 7th to September 4th.

"Hard Knocks wouldn't be there if we weren't 0-16 past year", he says to Cabot. "So we're working towards never having to have that situation again". "So, we're working towards never having to have that situation again. I'm looking forward to being a start of something new there in Cleveland".

We'll learn this fall whether Mayfield's apparent embrace of "Hard Knocks" reflects the naivety of rookie thinking or if the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft will change the game in Cleveland and beyond.
