Star Wars boss wants to give Lando his own movie after all

It'll also be interesting to see how Lucasfilm changes up Daniels' look so fans will be able to differentiate between this older character and the new one, Tak.

The endless possibilities of what A Star Wars Story could be have dwindled since they were originally conceived.

Solo isn't even out, and already, people want more of Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian.

Rumor started this morning of a Lando Calrissian movie as foretold by Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy. The publication quoted Kennedy stating that Lando's story would be the next one to be told in the franchise. Sounds like something got lost in translation between Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy and Premiere France.

Without getting into spoiler territory, Solo does a solid job of introducing Lando Calrissian but does not focus on him or over-explain his mystique. Although, it's so early that it's hard to be sure of any of that. Well, it's not impossible that Lando's film could be in 2020, with Obi-Wan's standalone following in 2021, as ComicBook also acknowledges. That's just speculation on our part, but since Lando gets such a great introduction in Solo, it feels silly to redo that with his own origin story. "When I heard they were making these, I told my agent, 'if they're making anything with Lando in it, I have to be Lando, '" he said over the weekend during a Solo press day. It's an especially strong vote of support considering that the general audience hasn't even seen the performance yet.

While that's not up there with the likes of Rogue One and the last two main saga entries, it's still better than many expected following the high-profile exits of directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller. So, that may be next. "And I think that if there's ever another one of these, you're going to have to either kill me or Bossk will be in it".
