Golfer's wife blamed mother-in-law for attack in 911 call

Missing the 54-hole cut at The Players Championship has had a much larger impact on former US Open Champion Lucas Glover.

Apparently, the altercation started between Lucas Glover's mother and his wife which resulted in Krista attacking his mother.

The wife of golfer Lucas Glover, arrested after an alleged altercation with the former US Open champion and his mother, told an emergency operator she was attacked by her mother-in-law.

The operator spoke again with Krista Glover before deputies arrived at the family's rented home in Ponte Vedra Beach, where Krista Glover was arrested and charged with domestic battery and resisting arrest and booked into jail before being released on $2,500 bail.

Lucas Glover told the police that Krista had been drinking alcohol all day.

Authorities say Lucas told them that his wife often gets violent whenever he doesn't play well in a tournament, according to the Miami Herald. "This is why cops get shot in the face", she allegedly added.

Glover and his 62-year-old mother - who said she tried to intervene when the couple argued in front of their two children - had lacerations on their arms, police said in the report.

"The police report accuses Krista to have become "irrational" and "verbally and physically aggressive" after being handcuffed".

"My wife has called you". That's what I'm telling you. " ... My wife has gone insane".

"No you can not", he said. That's why I answered the phone. "She's telling lies, and none of it's true". When asked how she was attacked, Glover's wife hung up and Glover answered when 911 called back. After officers put her in handcuffs and led her to a patrol vehicle, they said she tried to "wrap her legs and feet around the door and frame of the auto". "She continued to scream and kicked the bars covering the driver's side window and the driver's side door several times". Allegedly, she also warned the police officers that they will lose their job after the (PGA) Tour hears about it.

Glover took to Twitter to confirm the altercation, however, he hoped his wife will be soon cleared in the "private matter".

The order was issued on Monday following Krista Glover's arrest, which stemmed from an altercation with her husband and his mother.

Krista reportedly called her husband a "loser" and a "pussy" after he missed the Saturday cut at TPC Sawgrass, and then told him to "fire everyone" and "start winning otherwise she and the kids would leave him".

Glover, who has earned over $20 million on the Tour and is now 104th in the world golf rankings, has two children with his wife, a two-year-old son and a daughter who turned five on Monday (per the AP).
