According to a report from Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, the Yankees plan to recall Frazier from the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, where he had been tearing the cover off the ball over his last 12 games.

In 39 games with the Yankees a season ago, Frazier, who debuted on July 1, 2017, compiled a slash line of.231/.268/.448 along with four homers, four triples, nine doubles and 17 RBI. Gonzalez allowed three runs (two earned) and six hits in five innings.

Mid-fifth, the Nats and the Yankees are tied, 3-3. He struck out five, four in the first two innings, and walked four.

The Nationals added on in the second, a 27-pitch inning.

In the second, the Nats strung together three hits in four at-bats. Howie Kendrick doubled. Gregorius led off with a routine fly to left, where Matt Adams drifted over and settled under it. The fielding error was charged to Stevenson.

The Yankees got a break, and capitalized, in the fourth.

The Yankees went back to work in the fifth. Tyler Austin followed with a two-run shot on a 3-2 pitch over the right-center field wall. As lightning continued to flash, Gary Sanchez worked a walk to load the bases. He has covered the Yankees since 2009.
