Honor 10 Launched: Everything you need to know

16 May 2018

Chinese mobile maker Honor on Tuesday launched its flagship smartphone "Honor 10" enabled with artificial intelligence and for the first time in aurora colours.

The new Honor 10 is already available for pre-order in India exclusively through Flipkart for Rs 32,999.

"Honor 10 brings an exciting new proposition to India and we believe it will be a game changer in the flagship segment". In fact, the phone is nearly similar to the Huawei P20 in terms of design and specifications. The Honor 10 variant launched in India with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage has been priced at Rs.32,999. The device will be available in India along with the other global markets. The difference between the pricing of these devices is more than the 1/3rd of the cost of the Huawei P20.

Both the smartphones have an all-glass design with a metal mid-frame. Thanks to the independent NPU in the Kirin 970 chipset, the Honor 10's fast and efficient AI algorithm is able to pair subjects with optimal camera setting and image context to help users take professional-looking photos. In terms of dimensions, the Honor 10 measures 149.6 x 71.2 x 7.7mm and weighs in at 153 grams. However, the Huawei P20 is IP67 certified, whereas the Honor 10 does not have any kind of IP certification what so ever. It comes with a Fingerprint sensor, and an Infrared sensor as well. To conclude, the Honor 10 looks a lot cooler and offers features like 3.5 mm headphone jack, which keeps it ahead of the Huawei P20. However, the display comes with the controversial iPhone X like notch at the top, which is not liked by majority of the smartphone users. The device features a 5.84-inch Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 and a pixel density of 19:9.

They both share Huawei's HUAWEI Kirin 970 octa-core processor, and come in a 4GB RAM / 128GB onboard storage configuration (though the Honor 10 has a 6GB variant), and feature dual rear cameras and a 24-megapixel selfie snapper.

The Honor 10 runs Android Oreo 8.1.0 based EMUI 8.1 operating system out of the box and is backed by a 3,400mAh battery with fast charging support.
