But the bigger question is how well BSNL's new plan competes against the offers from Reliance Jio and Airtel. The pack comes with a validity of 28 days. So for instance, if you're on the Rs. 199 pack that presently offers 1.4GB data per day, you'll no longer need to recharge for a separate pack once you exceed the 1.4GB quota and will receive data at a speed of 128Kbps after surpassing the daily limit.

Taking on BSNL and Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel has now started offering a "truly unlimited" data experience on its prepaid packs starting at Rs. 199. In March, Airtel brought its Rs. 995 pack to that was the first prepaid pack to offer the truly unlimited experience for voice calls. Previously, Airtel's prepaid plan was limited to just Airtel to Airtel voice calls, but the pack now includes unlimited local, STD and roaming calls to all networks.

According to a report on telecom talk, the plan also offers 1GB 3G data, which is valid throughout the plan validity of 28 days. On the lucrative front, BSNL is providing users access to a free PRBT tune. Once the recharge is done, the BSNL signature tune gets activated automatically for free.

Along with the data benefit, BSNL is also offering 1GB data for the validity period, after the given benefit is exhausted the users will be charged at standard rates. This plan was aimed at the audience with more calling needs than data consumption requirements. Priced at Rs 118, the prepaid plan offers unlimited voice calls for 28 days. The Rs. 109 prepaid pack by Idea offers "unlimited" local, STD, and roaming calls, alongside 1GB of data and daily 100 local and national SMS. BSNL has recently announced new plans doubling the FUP data for three of its FTTH plans with no change in prices. However, the new broadband plan benefits have only been launched in the Kerala circle for now. There is no further information on full-fledged launch across India.
