Tapper presses Conway on Trump's falsehoods

However, David Lat, a buddy and creator of the legal news internet site Above regulations, stated in a contact that Mr. Conway "comes with a practical knowledge of what it's prefer to be more walking the legal tightrope while in the community spotlight".

Conway's last appearance on CNN's "State of the Union" went off the rails when host Dana Bash asked about her husband's anti-Trump Twitter activity.

In a typical confrontational exchange between CNN host Jake Tapper and White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, an exasperated Tapper finally cut in on the filibustering aide to President Donald Trump to say he was exhausted of the lying.

Speaking with reporters on Air Force One this week, the president said he did not know about the payment made by Cohen to Daniels. "So he's saying he didn't know about it when the payment occurred. Michael's my attorney", Trump said when asked why Cohen had paid Daniels the money if there was nothing to the allegations, Reuters reported.

"No, I would like you to stop lying", Tapper interrupted.

She added that when she was Trump's campaign manager, she "was not made aware" of the Daniels matter either. Asked whether Mr. Conway's experience in Washington suited the president's current needs, Mr. Grundfest said, "My neighbor has a poodle smarter than some of the people on Trump's legal team". Rudy Giuliani, who said Trump had paid back the money, also said he did not know the specifics of the payment.

Yet as Wilson noted in his critique of Conway's appearance, Trump's counselor did not only seem to be protecting Trump, she also seemed to be protecting herself a bit.

"Yes, he's denied it", Conway said. "So I have no reason to believe otherwise". A recent tally by The Washington Post found the President has made more than 3,000 false or misleading claims since he took office.

Pressed repeatedly on this point, Conway spoke about Trump's work on a range of issues, such as the economy, North Korea and the opioid crisis, and denied the White House was facing a credibility crisis.

"He talked about the three American hostages [taken by North Korea] and how the Obama administration tried and failed to get them free", Tapper then continued.

"You are focused on the tweet and we are focused on the hostages", Conway replied.
