NBA Playgrounds 2 Hits the Hardwood This Summer

17 April 2018

Just today, the official Facebook account for the game has shared the debut trailer for the latest addition in the series, NBA Playgrounds 2.

As you get better and win more matches, you'll climb the online ladder and gain access to higher ranking divisions. On the single-player side of things, the new Season Mode will see you take your team through a season, the playoffs, and the NBA Championship.

The developers say that there are other improvements coming to the game as well.

Sabre is also ensuring that dedicated servers and additional player options will be available for NBA Playgrounds 2.

I own the first game on Switch, but with ranked co-op league systems in place for the sequel, I'll have to pick it up on PS4 so my nephew and I can wipe the floor with people around the world. Four-player online matches will also be introduced in NBA Playgrounds 2. From there, the Championship should be just within reach. Other smaller tweaks include new power-ups, better AI, improved models and animations, and a roster of over 200 famous National Basketball Association players, current and retired. There are big names such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook, Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, Dr. J., Giannis Antetokounmpo, Allen Iverson and Larry Bird. But with NBA Playgrounds just releasing last May, we know essentially what we're getting here.

Also featuring new power-ups, moves, improved AI, new player models and animations, NBA Playgrounds 2 will be stepping onto the hardwood in summer 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
