Android 8.1 OxygenOS Beta 4 is Live for OnePlus 5T

So the OnePlus 5 joins the elite list of smartphones running Android 8.1, after Google's Pixel phones and Nokia 8, although in the form of a beta version.

In addition to this major change, OnePlus has also added few minor changes. With the latest update, the company is fixing various bugs along with some new features as well.

The new Beta update for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5t includes February security patch and the brand new version of OnePlus Switch app which enable users to switch between devices much quicker.

Do note that since these are beta builds, you may face some issues with stability.

Last time we updated you on the status of OnePlus's Android 8.1 Oreo update, we told you that OxygenOS Beta 6 based on Android 8.1 is now available for the OnePlus 5. This is not a new gesture as it's already present on various smartphones, but OnePlus has finally added it to the OxygenOS. When it comes to the gaming mode, OnePlus also added some changes here, with new optimizations in gaming mode, for a more immersive gaming experience. There's also a new "global roaming solution", however OnePlus has not detailed what this solution might be. So if you don't like the default clock on the device, this new update will bring a whole new clock to your device. These optimisations also include power saving features and pausing adaptive brightness while gaming. If you are already using the previous OxygenOS Open Beta update on your smartphone, you will receive this new OxygenOS Open Beta 6 update via OTA, which means you don't have to go to any website to download and install this update. If you want to roll back to the stable ROM, you've to manually flash it again. Since this is a beta program user need to be subscribed to its Open Beta program.
