Ryzen 2000 Specs and Pricing Possibly Leaked

08 March 2018

The leak comes as slides from and in the lower left corner the NDA information is stated, including the embargo date of March 15, which means, if this is true, we might see it confirmed just next week.

The processor is simply listed as a Ryzen 7 2000 Series by SiSoft SANDRA. For comparison, the Ryzen 7 2700X that we spied last week featured a base clock of 3.7GHz, a turbo clock of 4.1GHz, with a maximum clock of 4.2GHz using XFR 2.0 (eXtended Frequency Range). It's only been four days since the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X made its rumored blip on the web, and now there are rumors of another chip that clocks up to 4.35 GHz.

AMD will not be releasing the flagship successor to the Ryzen 7 1800X according to the new leaks, with the highest-end Ryzen 7 2000-series processor landing in the hands of the new Ryzen 7 2700X. The Ryzen 5 2000 series lineup will have 19MB of Smart Prefetch cache and come bundled with Wraith Spire cooler for the Ryzen 5 2600X and Wraith Stealth for the Ryzen 5 2600. Also XFR 2 will push the CPUs to higher speeds, based on the chip's temperature, but the X-series processors have more than these two technologies to improve performance. If you want these features, you will need one of the newer motherboards and not one of the current 300-series motherboards with a BIOS update.

AMD'S NEXT RYZEN PROCESSORS could give Intel's Core i series another headache, as latest leaks show a top-tier second-gen Ryzen CPU hitting 4.35GHz. The Ryzen 2000 lineup will start at USA $199 for the Ryzen 5 2600, U.S. $249 for the Ryzen 5 2600X, United States $299 for the Ryzen 7 2700, and United States $369 for the flagship Ryzen 7 2700X. In 3DMark Fire Strike the upcoming AMD Ryzen chip appears to be a solid competitor of Intel Core i7-8700K.
