He would visit Taraba, and subsequently Benue, Yobe, Zamfara and Rivers States.

President Buhari, accompanied by Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State, had an interactive forum with traditional rulers, community leaders, representatives of farmers and herdsmen, security chiefs and some top government officials in the state.

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived at Jalingo, the capital of Taraba as part of his attempt to carry out on-the-spot assessment of the security situations in the state.

This was made known in a press statement made by the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, on Sunday in Abuja.

Buhari stated that the number of people killed on the Mambilla Plateau were more than those who died in Benue and Zamfara States.

"To further demonstrate his lack of compassion for Nigerians, while the entire nation, especially parents of the 110 abducted school girls in Dapchi, Yobe State are still in anguish, President Buhari went to Kano last Saturday to attend a social function, thus sparking negative reactions from Nigerians".

It also said the president's scheduled visit was driven by recent terrorist attacks, criminal activities and communal clashes in some states of the federation leading to the tragic loss of lives as well as the kidnap of 110 schoolgirls in Dapchi, Yobe State.

It however mentioned that he had received the Liberian president, George Weah, before starting the regional tour in Taraba state.

While declaring the visits as belated and afterthought, Governor Fayose said; "Nigerians can no longer be deceived by a President who never cared for them when they needed him most".

A representative of the Yangdang Cultural Association, Dr Afraid Kobiba, said he had in presentation to the President, highlighted that the crisis that happened in January 2018 saw 68 people were killed, while 15 were still missing in addition to other killings that had taken place in the state in the past.
