Trump vents frustration over Russia probe, rails against FBI

21 February 2018

The White House did not immediately answer questions about what students would be attending the session. Trump alluded in another tweet to the FBI's failure to act on tips that the suspect was risky, while bemoaning the bureau's focus on Russia's role in the 2016 election.

Yet, no legislation was passed. Is it any different than ... what Jimmy Kimmel does every time he gets up on television acting like a pimp for the Democrat Party - actually like a prostitute for the Democrat Party?

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School remains closed through Wednesday, and officials say they hope to reopen the doors by week's end.

FBI Director Christopher Wray said in a statement Friday that the agency is conducting a review of what went wrong.

"Part of the stipulations of Nick moving in was that he get some kind of gun safe locker, and he did", said Cruz.

The president's visit to the Parkland area north of Miami came amid growing anger among parents and students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School over America's seeming unwillingness to toughen gun control laws.

Yarmuth said Trump should set an example for Republicans when it comes to discussing gun violence in the wake of mass shootings.

The FBI said Friday that someone who knew Cruz called an agency tip line on January 5 and left information about Cruz's "gun ownership, desire to kill people, erratic behavior, and disturbing social media posts, as well as the potential of him conducting a school shooting". They are spending too much time trying to prove Russian collusion with the Trump campaign - there is no collusion.

From the privacy of his South Florida estate, Trump has vented about the investigation in a marathon series of tweets over the weekend.

The President's tweet caused considerable outrage online, including among apparent survivors of the shooting. "You can keep all of your fake and meaningless "thoughts and prayers", another tweeted.

Being able to figure out if someone is going to harm himself, herself or others is hard and raises ethical dilemmas but, says Young of UCLA, a person's troubling social media posts can be red flags that should be checked out.

The massacre, among the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history, has once again sparked a debate about lax U.S. gun laws and lawmakers' continued inaction on gun control.

What the president will ultimately do is unclear.

After the bloodbath, Trump blamed Cruz's actions on "mental health". Wayne LaPierre, one of the leaders of the NRA, is also scheduled to speak.

After the Las Vegas massacre, some Republicans - and even the NRA - said the regulation of bump stocks was worth revisiting.

In Washington on Monday, teen demonstrators lay on the ground in front of the White House to symbolize the 17 victims.

"If Donald Trump wants to listen to us, he should have taken the first invitation", Wind said. "You are not my president". The Murphy-Cornyn legislation would offer direct financial incentives, as well as favorable future access to other federal assistance programs, to states that report infractions into the system.

He went on to say the "FBI apparently made a awful mistake, and people should be held accountable".

Asked about the lack of action on NBC's Meet the Press Sunday, Sen.

Kimberly Snead says Cruz had told their son two weeks ago that "he's the happiest" he had been in recent times.

Cruz owned the guns legally. "I have no issue with slowing down purchases for people that show all the basic warning signs". Don't we have the constitutional right to live free of the threat of mass shootings? Could something like this be done with the mentally disturbed, without violating their constitutional rights?

Trump signed a bill passed by Republicans in Congress previous year to roll back an Obama administration regulation adding those who receive Social Security checks for mental illness and deemed unable to handle their own financial affairs to the background-check database. The date is the anniversary of the 1999 shooting at Columbine High School in Colorado that left 12 students and one teacher dead.

McNeill also said of Cruz: "He's sad, he's mournful, he's remorseful".

Grady says pupils targeted by a gunman at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut, in 2012 were "too young to understand".

Trump 's visit to the Parkland area - not far from his Mar-a-Lago resort, where he will spend the long President's Day weekend - was not announced in advance, perhaps because he risked being greeted with angry demands for action on gun laws.
