Area snow emergencies declared beginning Thursday evening

10 February 2018

If residents typically park their cars on a designated snow route, they must move their cars to a side street while the snow emergency parking plan is in effect. No parking on the street will be permitted.

All cars must park on even-numbered side of street on Saturday and on odd-numbered side of street on Sunday and continue to alternate until the snow emergency has been cancelled.

With 8 to 12 inches of snow in the forecast, the village is asking people to refrain from traveling Thursday night and Friday if at all possible. Once snow depth has reached 2 inches, parking is not allowed on any marked snow routes until the snow has been cleared. Keep in mind to park vehicles in a driveway or in an approved off-street parking lot. This will be in effect from February 8, 2018 at 7 p.m. until Feb.10, 2018 at 10 a.m.

As an alternative to on-street parking in the downtown, residents and visitors to the downtown may park for free in any one of the city's three parking ramps beginning at 5 p.m., Thursday, through 7 a.m., Saturday.

The city of Janesville's snow emergency starts at 5 a.m. Friday.

Blue Grass, Iowa - Snow emergency in effect at Thursday, 6:00 p.m. through Sunday, Feb. 11 at 6:00 a.m. The Municipal Center is located at 5915 Milwaukee McFarland. No parking on snow routes until snow removed from street, odd and even parking restrictions on all other streets.

Parking on snow routes is prohibited when a snow emergency is in effect. Expect to see ticketing crews once the snow emergency goes into effect. No street parking is allowed during this time.

As of that time, all parked vehicles must be removed from city streets to allow for safe and efficient snowplowing.

To avoid getting a ticket or towed, you may park vehicles in City of Monona parking lots that serve city parks until the end of the snow emergency.
