The Patriots will be hosting the Tennessee Titans in a Divisional Round matchup as the victor of the game will be advancing to the AFC Championship game.
Ryan will be an important factor for getting the Titans ready for Sunday's game, but not because he has any sort of inside information on the Patriots organization.
But that hasn't changed the approach for Brady, who is preparing for his 35th playoff start in the aftermath of recent reports suggesting discord between himself, coach Bill Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft.
"You know what? No", he said of whether the report affected the team. "Nothing really should get in the way of that". Titans tight end Jonnu Smith was carted off in the third quarter with a right leg injury. I'd be selling them hopes and dreams. "That's fine", he said.
"As an offense, I'll be the first one to say that we underachieved this year", left tackle Taylor Lewan said.
To get it, they'll have to stop a quarterback that has been almost unbeatable in this round of the postseason. Tom Brady completed a pass to Danny Amendola for 11 yards, and there were questions about whether or not the clock expired before he went down.
Coming off one of the biggest comebacks in playoff history, Tennessee was able to pull off an incredibly impressive offensive second-half performance during the Wild Card Round against the Chiefs to clinch a 22-21 win in the last moments of the game.
But since 2001, quarterbacks making their first or second career playoff start are 0-7 against New England.
"Hopefully, people use this as motivation", quarterback Marcus Mariota said. "Divisional round, and I'm glad we earned the chance to be here [with a home game] to do it and we've just got to go take care of business". He finished with 12 carries for 28 yards, which was nine yards less than Mariota's rushing total. PATRIOTS: QUESTIONABLE: DT Alan Branch (knee), RB Rex Burkhead (knee), LB Marquis Flowers (illness), RB Mike Gillislee (knee), DE Eric Lee (ankle, finger), RB James White (ankle). Linebackers Brian Orakpo (seven) and Wesley Woodyard (five) give the Titans a variety of options to attack Brady, not counting backup linebacker Erik Walden (four). They'll move the ball and put some pressure on New England, which in turn will force the Patriots to keep scoring. The Patriots added on with 1:52 left in the first half when Chris Hogan caught a 4-yard toss from Brady after a 16-play, 91-yard drive. S KEVIN BYARD tied for National Football League lead with 8 INTs, 3rd most by safety in team history. The Titans employ a typical game plan of defending deep, and conceding space underneath.
If the Titans have any hope of slowing down Brady, the X factor might be defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau. The best online sportsbook players are used to seeing damaging stories come out of New England, but this might be the first time we've seen one that alleges an incoming breakup in Foxborough.
The respect between the two is mutual.
