Arsene Wenger reveals Alexis Sanchez resolution is imminent

14 January 2018

Sky Sports News understands United are interested in beating local rivals Manchester City to the signing of Sanchez this month, and it emerged on Friday that City are not prepared to pay Arsenal's £35m valuation. He is of course predominantly a left winger but spent the majority of last season playing as a centre forward where he scored an impressive 30 goals in 51 appearances.

Manchester United have no excuse for taking anything but three points from manager-less Stoke City. City have a very comfortable advantage and they can sit on that; it is the sort of lead that gives a lot of tranquillity and takes away the pressure from the guy that comes behind you. "There are lots of already strong teams in the Premier League, not like in other leagues where it is hard for the top sides to lose points, and there is a very important difference of points between first and second". Man City manager Pep Guardiola brought Sanchez to Barcelona in 2011 and they were together for a year. He said whether he is in charge or somebody else is, one can only do what's best for the club.

"I think when a person insults another, you can expect a response or you can expect contempt, silence", Mourinho said.

The agent of Bordeaux forward Malcom has teased Arsenal fans of a possible move for his client to the Emirates Stadium by "liking" a number of welcome messages from fans.

"I have great admiration for great players, I think Alexis Sanchez is one of these players".

Manchester City look set to end their interest in long-time target Alexis Sanchez over Arsenal's transfer fee demands. In-form Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard will join him, while Juan Mata is expected to get the nod over Marcus Rashford on the right of the attack.

"These guys want to win, and they want to make money as well", Wenger said, speaking of Sanchez.

Arsenal are sixth in the Premier League and are fighting on that front and in the Europa League for a Champions League spot next season.

The Chile global has refused to sign a new Arsenal contract with his current deal expiring in the summer, and United and City are reportedly both keen on recruiting him this month.

"We had very good news yesterday morning". The only word I can say is he is a phenomenal player.
