Bandai Namco Claims Dark Souls Remastered Never Had A 50% Off Deal

13 January 2018

The first in the series of multi-platform Souls games still stands as a hallmark of From Software's stellar design - something the studio only perfected heading up to Dark Souls 3. Not familiar with Dark Souls, let me help you. A description of the title for PC on the Bandai Namco Store said that if the PC version of Dark Souls is already owned, the remastered version would be 50% off. The standard PS4 and Xbox One consoles will be 1080p60, with the Switch version locked at 1080p docked and 720p portable, both running at (hopefully a stable) 30FPS. Experience the rich world of Dark Souls in Dynamic 4K resolution when playing on a PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and PC (Steam).

From their first timid steps to absolute mastery, players will build their characters by strategically adapting to daunting foes, exploring haunting locations, and amassing a large collection of weapons, armour and magic spells to utilise for a truly unique playstyle.

As it is the case with such rumors, the news spread like wildfire and the PC community celebrated it, until a recent article by PCGamer confirmed through an official source from Bandai Namco that there is no discount for owners of the original Dark Souls. It's a trilogy that is industry defining, and Japan is getting a suitably stunning box set to celebrate just that. This edition offered all of the DLC for Dark Souls II, along with enhanced visuals for modern consoles.

Even with no major changes, I'm still eager to get a definitive version of Dark Souls.

Stay tuned for more!
