Christian Bale was nearly in 'Solo

Speaking to the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Bale - out plugging his new movie "Hostiles" - said he was only a Wookie's hair away from accepting the role of Solo's mentor (the part that went to Woody Harrelson) in the film.

"Yes, [it was] very tempting".

The official Star Wars Facebook page has revealed that Spain will call the movie Han Solo instead of Solo, most likely so that it will be easier to advertise. "I not only love the films going back to my childhood, but also have a very long relationship with Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall because they did Empire Of The Sun from many years back".

But that led me to start thinking about who else, given at least some measure of creative control over casting for any and all upcoming Star Wars movies, I would like to see as part of this huge, wonderful galaxy I and countless other fans have come to love.

A Star Wars Story which chronicles the young Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) from years of 18-24 in his life and will include meeting Chewbacca (Joonas Suotomo) and finding (or perhaps winning) the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).

Her first love was Darth Vader.

Fortunately, it turns out that that he will indeed be back for Solo: A Star Wars Story, which will, barring any delays, arrive in theaters on May 25th. "She absolutely adored Darth Maul", the 43-year-old shared.

He explained, "I have not seen [Ben Affleck's Batman]". I tend to go see films that [my kids] want to see. "I have to confess I'm not a huge superhero film fan", he said.

Bale received universal acclaim for his portrayal of Bruce Wayne and his vigilante alter ego Batman in his three films but despite becoming a global icon due to his appearance as the DC Comics character he admits he's not a fan of superhero films. "People seem surprised at that, I don't know why", he added. His assignment is something I'm very happy about.

I don't even think it's debatable that Williams is the greatest composer to ever score a film. But it may be just a matter of time before one of his kids takes a shine to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
