First Look At Hawk & Dove From DC's 'Titans' Revealed

16 December 2017

On Friday, Warner Bros. released the first look at the new versions of Hawk and Dove from DC's live action Titans series and, as you can see in the image above, their new designs are stellar!

The level of detail in the costumes - designed by Laura Jean Shannon - goes beyond simply recreating their comic book look. Ritchson and Kelly co-star alongside Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Gods of Egypt) who's taking on the role of Dick Grayson (aka Robin).

Titans is produced by Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Hank Hall will be be played by Alan Ritchson, who previously played Aquaman on Smallville.

Titans, based on the various incarnations of DC Comics' beloved Teen Titans teams, is scheduled to debut in 2018 on DC's as-yet unnamed upcoming direct-to-consumer digital service.

Alongside Robin, Hawk and Dove, this latest iteration of the impressive crew will include Raven (Teagan Croft), Koriand'r (Anna Diop), Amy Rohrbach (Lindsey Gort) and Beast Boy (Ryan Potter). Titans is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.

Created by Steve Ditko and Steve Skeates in 1968, Hawk and Dove were crafted to reflect the emerging political divides in America in the wake of The Vietnam War. Seeing Hawk and Dove in live-action for the first time is actually pretty surreal, and seeing how comic accurate their costumes are is jaw-dropping. As such, it's really hard to get a good look at the costumes we're dealing with, especially for Hawk. The series was written by DC creative chief officer Geoff Johns, Akiva Goldsman and Greg Berlanti.
