PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: Desert Map Name & New Weapons Revealed

07 December 2017

The new desert map is called Miramar, and it's ready for its first batch of contestants.

Along with the previously revealed double barrel shotgun, it seems like the weapons confirmed so far for the desert map have sort of a rustic vibe to them when compared to the more modern weapons of the game's original map, Erangel.

The post went on to give details on some of Miramar's key points of interest, shown in the above topographical map. So what kind of loot can players look forward to on the Microsoft system?

Regions of the new map include; El Pozo with its Luchador Arena, the oceanside Valle de Mar and the very vertical Chumacera.

On top of the harsh landscape, Miramar is home to at least eight major cities, each of which features different kinds of buildings and constructions that will affect your strategy. There are both large and small roadways connecting the cities, in addition to a couple of "crater" locations that are unique to the desert map.

It contrasts to the now existing map, Erangel, in that it's not an island.

Miramar will be available during the final test round before PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds hits version 1.0, which is planned for later this month.

Over on Xbox Wire, Microsoft has announced the release dates for the three limited edition cosmetic packs for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds ahead of its December 12th release on Xbox One's Game Preview Program.

The inclusion of the new map is sure to be welcomed by the game's community, who have come to understand every inch of the game's existing massive map. Soon however, as PUBG prepares for its console debut exclusively on the Xbox One family of platforms, so to will a brand new map in all-new environment.
