27 November 2017

Police radio reports say the shooter is no longer "active".

Shoppers on scene took some photos of the massive state police and emergency response.

Shots were fired on Sunday afternoon, according to New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel.

The mall is on lockdown and cars are not allowed to enter the Galleria property.

The Woodbury Police Department said, "At this time regarding the Active Shooter in the Galleria Mall, Middletown NY".

The shooting happened inside the American Eagle store at the Galleria Mall in Middleton.

Witness Leighton Peterson told the Associated Press he heard alarms and mall employees telling people to reach the exits as he was getting food in the food court.

It came in the midst of a busy Thanksgiving shopping weekend.

Authorities had not released information about possible casualties as of the latest reports available.
