HMD Global starts rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update to Nokia 8

Sony Xperia XZ and XZs comes with a build number from 41.2.A.7.76 to version 41.3.A.0.401. After delivering timely security patches for all its smartphones, Nokia has finally started seeding Android 8.0 to its flagship Nokia 8.

With the new android Oreo update, both the smartphone users will get every standard Android oreo based features, plus some extra tweaks added by the company itself.

Other smartphones from Sony that have been confirmed to receive the Oreo update are: Xperia X, Xperia X Performance, Xperia X Compact, Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XA1, Xperia XA1 Ultra, Xperia Touch, and Xperia XA1 Plus. So the new variant would be running on a latest Oreo update itself. Make sure you have more than 1 GB free space for the update.

If you own an XZ or XZs, then head over to Software Update section of the device and check for the update. Android Oreo has been announced in August and immediately after the announcement, Sony has released a list with all their compatible smartphones that are going to get the update. And, it ought to happen couple of weeks before the end of this year.

Since Android Oreo is the latest Android version, it brings a variety of new features to the phone. Reminders will come in handy as it will focus on unfinished tasks such as drafts left in e-mails, missed voice calls or reminders that you probably swiped off earlier but want to get back to. Nokia says that their Oreo update has minimal bloat so as to keep the experience fluid. The update will gradually reach the devices in the form of OTA update.
