Zlatan Ibrahimovic sends title warning to Manchester City

30 October 2017

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC has vowed to "walk on water" before he quits Manchester United.

Lukaku has hit the ground running at United following his £75million arrival from Everton, scoring 11 goals in 14 matches in all competitions - seven of those in the Premier League.

The Swedish worldwide has not featured for the Red Devils since April, when he sustained a knee injury, but is not anxious about hitting the ground running upon his return as he thinks Romelu Lukaku has eased the pressure on him at the club.

"I see their mentality is different from last year because now they know what they need to do to get the wins, and now they know what it is to win because we won the three trophies last year". That is my target to finish.

Scoring 57 goals in 88 league games at Inter, 113 in 122 at Paris Saint-Germain and 17 in 28 at United thus far, Ibrahimović has showcased his talents across Europe in emphatic style during is career.

"The challenge is that I have never suffered a major injury before, many people say: "It's over" or "He's too old" All these doubts I face in my career", he concluded.

"The thing is in the last years, when you're thinking how many more years you want to play, that is when you're hesitating".

"Everything I started in the first season, we will finish in the second one".

"When that happens, it triggers me because it gives me energy and an objective".

United boss Jose Mourinho is certainly a manager with a very defensive style, but with Lukaku and Ibrahimovic both fit at the same time, he could really have a high flying attack.

"I will not walk out limping".

"In that moment when it happened it was easier for me to say that I will come back because then I had a challenge", he said.

And speaking to Thierry Henry ahead of United's clash with Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday - live on Sky Sports Premier League - the Swede elaborated on why he has returned. Now I have been off for six months, how much more it will be we don't know, but trust me when I come back I will be motivated.
