The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Premieres in November on Amazon

12 October 2017

Now, six months after that happy news, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel finally has an official trailer and premiere date!

Taking place in an nearly Stars Hollow-esque version of 1958 New York City (though with considerably more swearing) the series focuses on Miriam "Midge" Maisel, who goes from an Upper West Side wife and mother, to a separated single mom and sudden stand-up comedian. When her husband leaves her for another woman, Midge guzzles wine straight from the bottle and turns to stand-up comedy. Let's just say the police get involved multiple times.

And with Sherman-Palladino writing and directing the series, we have no doubt that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will be one of our favorite new shows when it begins streaming exclusively on Amazon (available with a Prime membership) on November 29.

Gilmore Girls fans, get ready to meet The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Tony Shalhoub (Monk) also stars as Midge's father Abe Weissman, along with Alex Borstein (Family Guy) as Susie Myerson, Michael Zegen (Boardwalk Empire) as Midge's husband Joel Maisel and Marin Hinkle (Two and a Half Men) as Midge's mother Rose Weissman. In addition to penning the script, Amy Sherman-Palladino also executive produces alongside Daniel Palladino.

The series first debuted on Amazon Prime as a pilot in March before earning a rare two-season pickup at the streamer.
