Chizzy first to leave Strictly Come Dancing

03 October 2017

Len who? We're just three weeks into Strictly Come Dancing 2017 and very few viewers are missing the hit show's highest-profile departure since Sir Brucey.

The Holby City actress was up against Brian Conley in the dance-off after they both received the lowest score from the judges and the public vote combined.

The actor found herself and partner Pasha Kovalev in the bottom two, facing a dance-off against TV presenter Brian Conley and Amy Dowden.

Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli deciding to save Brian.

Melvin was in the bottom two with singer Anastacia previous year, but after she refused to take part in the final dance Melvin was denied the opportunity to save himself and was booted off the show for having the least amount of public votes.

"Things happen for a reason, I had a bit of a bad knee so my knee needs resting, maybe there's a big acting job around the corner I need to be free for, it happened for a reason", Chizzy explained.

Former dancer Darcy Bussell was next to make her choice choosing to save Brian and Amy, while Bruno Tonoili also chose Brian stating: 'Oh first dance off is bad, the nerves!'

She said: 'Thank you to everyone who has supported.

Chizzy struggled to win over the judges in the dance-off after performing her foxtrot for the second time, with the first performance only scoring a 16 out of 40.

'If anyone knows what you're going through it's me, ' Melvin said. I've kept him fit! He's so amusing, he's fast, he's quick. And thank you to the judges for the constructive criticism which I will take on board.

A RadioTimes.com poll backed this sentiment, with over 80% of readers saying that the judges had made the wrong decision.

"Did we see a different dance-off than what the judges saw?" one ballroom fan commented on Twitter.

Strictly Come Dancing has continued to dwarf The X Factor in the ratings.
