'Frustrated' Sweden boss wants Mourinho to play Lindelof more

28 September 2017

United now sit joint top of the Premier League level on points with rivals Manchester City after a fantastic start to the new season.

Sweden global defender Lindelof joined Manchester United from Benfica in July but finds himself behind Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling in the pecking order.

Each of the club's three away fixtures in the group stages of the Champions League this season falls on a Wednesday night and is then followed by a Premier League game at 3pm on Saturday.

"He didn't exactly say names, but everyone thinks: 'I've done something bad, I've made mistakes'".

Mkhitaryan won back his place but reserved his best performances for the Europa League, scoring six times - including in the 2-0 final win over Ajax.

"I have already gone on record and said if United are going to win the league title they are going to need a fully fit Jones for much of it".

The Telegraph revealed the great disparities in recovery time for United's squad compared to that of Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur this season following away trips in European competition. "I have worked very hard and will continue to make sure there is no limit".

"This year we have the Champions League and we are all concentrating on winning it", he told a news conference in Moscow on Tuesday.

"I watch a lot of CSKA games in the Russian league and they have a lot of experience in their team. They have a lot of experienced players but there's a big difference from the Champions League and the Russian league so they will be playing differently".
